Driving Test

What is the driving test?
At the moment the driving test consists of 2 parts:
- Hazard Perception.
- Theory test.
Help is available with all aspects of this.
The Practical Driving Test is at a local test centre in Surrey. Normally Tolworth.
Hazard Perception and Theory testing
The theory test consists of 50 multiple choice questions of which the pass mark is 43, some require more than one answer so be careful and read the questions before you answer.
The Hazard Perception test is a series of 14 video clips which feature every day road scenes.
In 13 of the video clips there will be at least 1 developing hazard and 2 developing hazards in one of the 14 clips. You need to respond to the developing hazard as it begins to happen to obtain a maximum score, however responding to quickly, slowly or repeatedly will reduce your score.
The pass mark is 44 out of possible 75. You will have to pass both sections on the day to get your certificate.
A home study course is available to assist you in this test, and can be purchased from the TSO see books and DVDs in the lessons page.
Julie's Driving School will provide as much help with these tests, providing any advice necessary and teaching in order to pass.
The practical test
The practical test is approximatly 40 minutes in length & begins with an eyesight test. You will be asked two safety questions about the vehicle, carry out one or two manoeuvres, then by driving on the road following directions from the examiner and include a 10 min free drive following road signs to a given point. (this is under review at the moment and more upto date information will be included later).
